Measure your runs

Run A
Run B (optional)

Damage: 0–1,000,000,000,000,000. Up to three decimal places; correctly grouped commas are accepted.

Time: 0.001–86,400 seconds. Use the same timing method for both runs.

Enter Run A to begin. Leave both Run B fields empty for one result.

How DPS is calculated

DPS = total damage ÷ elapsed seconds. This is the definition of an average rate. It does not describe how AION 2 converts attack, defense, critical hits or skill levels into damage.

Use a damage total you are entitled to view and the time interval that produced that total. Convert minutes into seconds first: two minutes is 120 seconds. Decide whether you are measuring a full encounter or only active attacking time, then use that same definition for every run.

Arithmetic example, not game measurements: Run A deals 120,000 damage in 60 seconds, giving 2,000 DPS. Run B deals 180,000 damage in 120 seconds, giving 1,500 DPS. B is 25% lower than A.

The combined rate is 300,000 damage ÷ 180 seconds = 1,666.67 DPS. Averaging the displayed rates directly would give 1,750, which overweights the shorter run.

Keep comparisons on the same basis

Record the game region and patch, character setup, target, party effects and timing method alongside your own notes. Change one condition at a time when that is practical. Different targets, equipment or downtime can explain a difference; two manual totals cannot establish a class ranking or prove that a build is better.

A shorter active-time window can produce a higher rate than a full-encounter window for the same damage. Neither is interchangeable with the other. Do not combine several players who acted at the same time by adding all of their elapsed times: that answers a different question from party damage per encounter second.

What stays in your browser

The calculation runs locally. This page does not upload, import or save your damage totals, elapsed times or results. Existing site usage monitoring may count a calculation or copy action using fixed tool and mode labels; those events contain no entered numbers. Input and result areas are masked in session recording. See our privacy and advertising information.

DPS calculator questions

Does this read my character or combat log?

No. Enter totals manually. There is no character lookup, log upload, game-client connection or add-on installation.

Does this predict my AION 2 damage?

No. It divides damage you provide by elapsed time. It cannot calculate skill coefficients, mitigation, critical hits or equipment effects.

Where should my damage total come from?

Use a total you can legitimately view and a matching time interval. This page supplies no game measurements and does not require a third-party meter.

Should I count downtime?

For encounter DPS, include the full encounter interval you chose. For active-time DPS, use only your explicitly defined active interval. Keep that definition consistent when comparing runs.

Why are zero seconds rejected?

Division by zero has no defined rate. Enter an actual positive duration; zero damage over a positive duration is valid and gives zero DPS.

Why is combined DPS not the average of the two numbers?

Runs can last different amounts of time. Combined DPS divides their summed damage by summed seconds, so each run contributes according to its duration.

Can I use this to rank classes or party members?

No. Different conditions are not controlled comparisons, and simultaneous party damage uses a shared time interval. The tool makes no class-strength or party-performance judgment.

Are my inputs uploaded or saved?

The entered numbers and result stay in the page and are cleared on reload. Copying sends your chosen result to your clipboard. Usage monitoring receives only fixed action labels, with the input and result areas masked.
